Obituary in Guide Rock Signal newspaper, Guide Rock, NE "John Watt was born in Circleville, Ohio, Oct 16, 1810. Was married to Miss Elizabeth Adams in 1834. In 1832 (?) they removed to Perrysville, Indiana, where they lived until 1850, when they removed to Illinois and to Iowa in 1860. In 1869 they came with their family to Nebraska. John Watt and wife had thirteen children, four of whom are dead. One daughter still lives in Indiana, Mrs. Ferguson. One son Albert and one daughter, Mrs. Mulford reside in Arkansas. Five sons, James, Henry, Luther, Fred and Frank and one daughter, Mrs. Ely live in Guide Rock and immediate vicinity, and were present at their father's death. John Watt was converted and united with the M. E. Church in 1840, and was an honored member ever since." (John Watt died June 23, 1891, age 82 years)
